Away from the largest resorts,  Mallorca retains a very beautiful and serene charm. The interior especially remains almost unchanged with its centuries-old tradition of land farming and fruit-growing areas, traditional fincas and beautiful windmills. The scenery is most attractive and along the north coast, stretching right along the island from Puerto Andraitx in the south-east edge to Formentor in the north-east, is a magnificent mountain range and hills with very steeply sloping roads down to the north coast resorts such as Puerto de Soller. High up in the mountains lies Valldemosa, a very popular tourist destination.

Cala d'Or the up and coming marina and village on the South East Coast is, today, a modern purpose built holiday resort that has grown from a small traditional Mallorcan fishing village. Over many years the resort has expanded, and now covers an area of over 5km of small sandy coves and beautiful creeks. Although this growth has for the better part been totally controlled, and the town still has the feeling of a small village with no high rise buildings. Indeed in line with the Ibizan architecture of its founder all buildings continue to be white, low rise and traditional in structure. The exclusive marina attracts spectacular yachts and celebrity visitors year round.

Porto Colom  is a quiet and peaceful coastal 1st line village with a natural harbour, home to the traditional fishing Llauts of Mallorca, the little boats that set out daily to bring back the fresh fish catch. Situated on the South East coast Mallorca, 59 km from Palma Airport, 11 km from Cala D´or, and 18 km from Porto Cristo, Porto Colom is surrounded behind by almond groves leading up to the sanctuary of Montieuri, its monastery and old fort (not to mention the championship Val d´Or golf course). A scenic area with beautiful coves, hidden private beaches and a beautiful light house - this area is just becoming discovered.
